Jewish community funeral homes, cemetery operators and rabbinic leadership have all been working very closely with each other throughout this pandemic. Jewish rituals and practices have had to be modified in some cases as the paramountcy of life, and applicable provincial and other laws, must be followed. They all recognize how difficult this has been for grieving families.
Together with KolHaCOVID public health consultation, they all are doing their utmost to balance the significant needs of bereaved families with sensitivity, compassion and professionalism, while also adhering to safe practices for the protection of bereaved families, officiating clergy, and staff members as mandated by the province.
